Testimonials

Regardless of all the warnings from other parents about how hard the first few months can be and the time I spent getting ready to bring a new life into the world, nothing prepared me for the lack of sleep and added worry I was about to experience. That is when Sandra came in and truly saved the day and my health. She is a true life saver. She had great advice on swaddling, colicky babies, keeping their nails covered, sleeping positions and you name it - she knew what she was talking about not only from her doula experience, but she has raised five children of her own — her expertise is endless. Sandra is a very warm, caring, knowledgeable person who helped me recover from an emergency c-section by giving me the gift of rest after pregnancy that I truly needed. I whole-heartedly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a Doula. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. Thank you Sandra!

It was crucial to have Sandra guide us through the nights when we first brought our son home from the hospital. Sandra is so natural and comfortable with newborns and new mothers. She put us at ease so my husband could sleep and I could get the maximum amount of sleep between nursing every 2-3 hours. She is a baby whisperer, full of suggestions, but willing to follow any course you decide. Sandra kept records of our sons feedings and diapers, offered to bring water or a snack and was always willing to run the laundry. She helped organize the nursery initially and kept it tidy. It was truly a luxury to have Sandra with us and made the transition into motherhood much smoother.

My daughter was 2 years old when I found out I was having twins.  I was overwhelmed by the news and worried about everything.  One of the first decisions I made was to hire a night nurse.  I met Sandra for an interview about halfway through my pregnancy.  She was calm, professional and nurturing.  I was comforted by her confidence.  She had experience with twins and explained how she would help me get the babies on a schedule.
When we brought the babies home from the hospital I was recovering from a c-section and struggling emotionally.  Sandra came into our home that very first night and was like an angel to me.  Her support was priceless.  She came in and immediately knew where she was needed and what she needed to do.  Every night, night after night, she would come inside (always early even despite the long drive) happy as can be, wash her hands and take a baby.  And she loved my babies.  It was obvious.
She helped me with breastfeeding in the beginning and when I switched to pumping at night she would clean all the pump parts and have it all ready to go for the next time.  She fed, burped, rocked, and swaddled the babies like a champ.  She took copious notes so every morning I was able to see who did what when.
My then three year old also loved Sandra.  There were a few mornings that I came downstairs to find my daughter eating breakfast (made by Sandra) and chatting her ear off.  She really was like another member of the family while she worked for us.  I cannot say enough good things about her.  Hiring Sandra is one of the best parenting decisions I have made thus far.

Sandra was with us for almost 4 months, 5 nights a week after the birth of our twin girls. As first time parents with no family for support, it was necessary for us to find a night nurse/doula to help us through the long and exhausting nights.
I ended up in the hospital for 5 days (Thanksgiving!) when my girls were only 5 weeks old and Sandra stayed every night to help my husband. She is an absolute angel. She is intuitive, loving and experienced…all qualities among many others that got us through an incredibly difficult time with two infants.
Sandra also helped me with lactation issues, schedules and sleep training. I don't know what we would have done without her!
